What I saw working with Czech publishers at the turn of the totalitarian system: 9,800 lush copies of "The Anatomy of the Bat Wing" by an important professor, in Czech, warehoused for years from a print run of 10,000. Without some sort of market-drive restraint on drivel, we'll see clout being used in similar fashion. |
